Atonement

Atonement is the most beautiful film I have seen this year. It's directed by Joe Wright, written by Christopher Hampton, based on a novel by Ian McEwan, and the D.P. is Seamus McGarvey. It stars James McAvoy and Keira Knightley. It about how a misunderstanding of events (or also could be viewed as lying) ruins the lives of two people. Joe Wright shows the power of cinema with his use of visuals and sound. It's not often enough where filmmakers show the uniqueness of the medium and it's good to see Wright command it.

QUESTIONS:
1) have you ever thought of putting all these sweet chickx drawrinkx and the ones in gun fu etc. inna book?

if ya do, i'd suggest alberto ruiz's brandstudio press
(i hope he's doing ok right now, family stuff ya know)

i'm sure he has you and many other talented guys in mind

like maybe a book by our friend bobby rubio?

ya know i'd buy it :)

2) so, what is your current projects?

3) if your not publishing comics, how do you pay the bills?

4) besides the links to friends blogs on here who else would you think i might like?

5) are you going to do some more filming sometime? are you writing anything?

6) whose blogs you just have to check up on?

i have 30 blogs i go to every other day!

but there is only 10 that know me, like you :)

7) if there is an equivilant to minimum wage ($7.00 per hr) in publishing independently and work for hire, what is it hourly? inquiring mind wants to know

i do know about page rate

is it truely worth being in the comic book field than another profession?

8) do you draw on paper or computer, if you are drawing on computer would you record it to youtube?

i want a copy :) i could replay those over and over again

dude, it would be nice if more artists did that

its also another way to get outsiders, lovers of art to come to comics, at least for the art at first then the writers, then the social scene/conventions

9) have you ever taught how to draw?

if so can i be your whipping boy? :)

10) is there any chance could you please send me turnarounds of the main characters from gun fu and intrigue?

i'm currently messing around with lightwave 3d, i'm ok at it but man that book is confusing

need help!

and last but certainly not the last....

11) do ya ever get the feeling that you only do this for me :)

heck man, i'm wondering too!

where is the love!

you need some advertizeing or something!

SCREW IT!

ya know what? expect an ad on the 30 blogs i visit

i'll let everyone there who care to look to come to see your awesome art

and that goes to any talent that i like!

SO THERE! :)

HOWS THAT FOR A POST!

Thanks, comikxguy, bobby, amd robin.

comikxguy here are the answers to your questions:

1) I've thought about it. Maybe sometime in the future. I want to do more comics and sceenplays at the moment.

2) Hyperkinetic - coming out in spring 2008 from Image. Art by Matteo Scalera, colors by Oscar Celestini, written by me.

3) work-for-hire comics like The Simpsons and other freelance art.

4) If I like them, I link them.

5) I'll film something if someone other than myself will finance it. I'm always writing some kind of spec script.

6) The ones I link to.

7) Nope.

8) Draw on paper, color on computer.

9) I have never taught anyone to draw nor have I ever had any formal art training (at times I wish I had, at times I couldn't care less).

10) I don't have any turnarounds. Joey Mason might have some GF ones. I don't think Kaare did any.

11) I get from 60-100 hits a day on the blog, but hardly any comments.

Hey comikxguy,

I appreciate the gesture, but please don't go posting to other people's blog about coming to mine. Thanks.

NO PROBLEM SHUM, IT WON'T HAPPEN HERE AGAIN

its just my way of contributing to the comics world

A) promote the guys i like

B) show topics that interest me to others who normally don't see those artist's blogs to have them contribute if they choose to

its what you do with movies, directors and models just this way its not stuck in just one area or just on a blog, its everywhere

heck, they do it all the time on myspace :)

people's posts are normally suppose to just be a way to communicate but instead its used as an ad space

on myspace people can ask another to stop the ads but their just ignored, me i'm ok with it

i like blogs better, their more one - on - one and not as crazy as a messageboard/chatroom

"I get from 60-100 hits a day on the blog, but hardly any comments."

thats a alot of lurkers but hey at least say something like "NICE!" or ask some questions

like i said for a second there i thought i was the only one who gave a damn

"Hyperkinetic - coming out in spring 2008 from Image.

Art by Matteo Scalera, colors by Oscar Celestini, written by me."

totally looking forward to it!

you could see this as an early promo or atleast let people know what is up with you currently

"I don't have any turnarounds. Joey Mason might have some GF ones. I don't think Kaare did any."

i'll ask joey then

now...

let's see what bobby has to say :)
