Jedi Girls
Darryl Young and I went nuts (some say I was already there) and did a bunch of Jedi girl drawings during the summer. Pencils by Darryl, inks by me.

Kong is King
I saw an advance screening of King Kong tonight. It’s a thrilling beautiful film. It takes a little too long in the story before we get to Skull Island, but once there, director Peter Jackson puts his foot on the accelerator on the film’s intensity level and only lets up occasionally to allow you to catch your breath.
The special effects are remarkable. Skull Island is both a scary-ass place to be and majestically beautiful. Kong is expressive and believable. The dinosaurs are phenomenal. Naomi Watts is illuminating and her large expressive eyes serves her well in her part. Those of you who are worried that Jack Black would be too annoyingly distracting in this movie should have no concern.
King Kong is not just a special effects-action movie. It also have funny moments and is touching. Living in Los Angeles, I’m lucky to have seen most of the so-called major contenders for best movie of the year (Memoirs of a Geisha, Syriana, etc.) except for Munich (which I hope to see in the next few weeks). Before I saw King Kong, my choice for best film was between The Constant Gardner and Crash. Now I have to put King Kong into the mix.

South Park
South Park is still one of the funniest shows on TV today. Currently, I can't think of any other show with new episodes that is consistently funnier than South Park.
Check out this website to make your own South Park character.
This is what I look like when I'm in South Park.

The Greatest Game Ever Played
I saw “The Greatest Game Ever Played” tonight. It’s one of the best films I have seen this year. From the advertising, I was expecting a simple kids movie, but it’s not that at all. It’s an enticing film about classism and the unique attitude of what separates winners from losers.
I think it’s possible for someone to stumble into making a good movie. With a quality first film “Frailty” already under his belt, director Bill Paxton shows in this film that he is a filmmaker of magnitude. He posses a visually flair that most actors-turned-directors lack. He gets amazing performances from young actors Shia LaBeouf and future Academy Award winner Josh Flitter. Mark Frost turns in a good script from his book which is based on a true story.
This film was mismarketed. I am not a golf fan and I don’t think you need to be one to enjoy this film. It’s definitely worth watching.

Slave Leia
Anton Bogaty and I traded drawings of Princess Leia wearing her metal bikini. Yes, I know Anton did a way better drawing than I did. I'll make it up to him by becoming a brilliant film director and then he can show my drawing to his friends and say, "Look at the crappy Leia drawing I got from that Hollywood bigshot." Check out Anton's website and buy his beautiful Drawings book.

John Cena
I recently got to meet John Cena on the set of his upcoming movie "The Marine" (my buddy Paul Power storyboarded some of the action sequences). I think John has a good potential to make the transition to feature films. Most wrestlers carry their over-the-top acting that they do for live audiences in huge arenas when they do film or TV acting. John seems to know the difference and has properly toned it down in the few scenes I saw him act in. Looking at this photo, it's sad that putting both my arms together does not even match the size of one of John's arms. John is a cool guy even though he did body slam me into the concrete floor after this photo was taken.
