Pan's Labyrinth is the best film I’ve seen this year so far. Guillermo del Toro continues to show that he is a masterful filmmaker. Guillermo Navarro’s cinematography is beautiful and gives this modern fairy tale a magical look. The film is about a young girl during the Spanish civil war who has to cope with a new (evil) stepdad, sick mother, and the upcoming birth of a baby brother. When she and her mother move to be with her mother’s new husband (who is also a captain in the fascist army), she soon realizes she is also entering a magical realm...
